European Standard 962 : 1996

Description - This European Standard covers devices intended for the protection of gas cylinder valves where such protection is required because the valve itself is insufficiently robust to allow safe transport, handling and storage without such protection.

Within this standard is a drop test that will clearly separate a good guard  from a bad. Our guards are specifically designed with this test in mind. The test itself is very simple.

1) Raise the Cylinder with Guard fixed in places 1.2 meters above the ground.

2) Set the Guard pointing toward the ground at a 30° angle over a 10mm thick steel plate.

3) Let the cylinder drop from this height with no resistance.

4) Examine valve. In order to be operable the valve must not leak, you must have access to valve controls and they must function normally.
